I'm not asking you to select the best overall top 4, but rather to rank each individual player in terms of projected ceiling. This is, of course, making the assumption that the expected top 4 for this upcoming draft pans out predictably.

Adam Larsson
Gabriel Landeskog
Sean Couturier
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
Taylor Hall
Tyler Seguin
Eric Gudbranson
Ryan Johansen
John Tavares
Victor Hedman
Matt Duchene
Evander kane
Steve Stamkos
Drew Doughty
Zach Bogosian
Alex Pietrangelo

I would like to see 2008's thrown in there too. Stamkos, Doughty, Bogo and Petro if I remember correctly,

I think the high end talent, like picks 1-2 wont have as high of ceiling as the previous years, but picks 3-4 are better than picks 3-4 in previous drafts.

1. Drew Doughty
2. Steven Stamkos
3. John Tavares
4. Taylor Hall
5. Matt Duchene
6. Victor Hedman
7. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
8. Sean Couturier
9. Tyler Seguin
10. Adam Larsson
11. Alex Pietrangelo
12. Gabriel Landeskog

I highly doubt Piet is last. The guy made EJ expendable this year with how great he has been.

Hard to rank projected top 4 with some top fours that are already NHL superstars. It's like a statistical improbability that any of the guys drafted in 2011 and 2010 will even have a career year like Stamkos' sophmore season.

Why would you throw 2008 drafted players when 2 of them have scored 50 goals / contended for a Norris? Makes no sense to compare them with unproven players..

All I'm going to say is that anyone who does this, and does not have Alex Pietrangelo ranked at least top ten, or more accurately top five, is missing the boat.

Period.

Youve got to rank Stamkos #1, and Doughty, Duchene and Tavares need to be in the top five as well... but who else that's left has been better than Pietrangelo?

Taylor Hall is more hype than production at present, and none of the 2011 potential top four have proven a blasted thing at the NHL level.

Stamkos
Doughty
Duchene
Tavares
Pietrangelo
Kane
Hall
Seguin

The Rest

Kane over Hall? You have to be kidding me? Have you actually watched him play this year, he's been getting better and better as the year goes on. He has a Stamkos breakout written all over him. Kane will be a nice player, but Hall is on a different planet. You are so sure about Pietrangelo being top 5 but no Hall, that just destroyed your arguments.

Odd you say that Hall is more hype than production and rank Kane ahead of him. Hall is outproducing Kane this year and Kane is in his 2nd season. Kane's rookie season isn't even close.
