Not to be confused with Peter.

28 years old. 2 career goals. Minor league fodder and depth.

AHL all star, not an NHL player. Will help Hartford.

This is exactly what I wrote in the Pack thread we need. An AHL All Star center was just what the doctor ordered. Great signing for those of us who watch Hartford.

AHL CHAMPIONSHIP is ours!

After not making the playoffs for two seasons in a row, that would be very exciting. Excellent experience for our prospects. This year in particular we have a lot of them in Hartford.

Wrong Mueller, Slats. You were supposed to go after Peter.

when i read he was looking to come back to the NHL i figured i would read of his signing today. fits the profile of typical yearly sather reclemation project.

I'm glad they are giving the 'Pack some love. Will be watching again this year when I can.

Hate to break the news but this guy doesn't look like AHL fodder, when you consider there is no one else who will be able to play on the 4th line adequately.

Gorton seems to think he can play on the 4th line.

“same kind of thing. He brings versatility, can play center or both wings, kills penalties, has some upside offensively so our guys liked him and we thought that they both will try to make the team and go from there.”

That's Brian Boyle's replacement.

You've got to assume that they will sign someone else. If not, they will have more trouble than they did in 2012.

It's ****ing July 2nd. Some of you guys have the patience of toddlers. There's plenty of time for the Rangers to either sign someone or make a trade. And even if not, then one of Miller or Lindberg is likely for the spot.

Regarding Mueller, what's Gorton supposed to say? That they have zero chance at making the roster? They ****ing told Wade Redden that no decision was made and he could still make the roster a few years ago even when everyone knew the Rangers were going to send him to the AHL. Mueller going to go into training camp like everyone else and if he performs well then awesome. Maybe he earns a spot. But the idea that the Rangers targeted a 28 year old career minor leaguer as "Brian Boyle's replacement" a whole four hours into free agency is pure lunacy.

Oh my god our assistant GM made positive comments about a player he just helped sign.

Sound the alarms.

Hmph, well if he makes the team so be it. Nothing wrong with thinking it's a good move for the 'Pack and then it turning out to be an underrated signing for the Rangers.

Bourque - Moore - Mueller?

Great post.

This is absolutely a Hartford move, and nothing more. Same for Bourque.
