These guys are getting paid pretty darned well to put up serious points.
Period.
Any GM in the league will tell you that.
I can agree Nash has played well. Very well.
But he has been frustratingly ineffective.
His shooting % is at a very meager 5.3% this year
Previous years it has been:

2002/2003 - 11.0%
2003/2004 - 15.2%
2005/2006 - 18.2%
2006/2007 - 11.8%
2007/2008 - 11.6%
2008/2009 - 15.2%
2009/2010 - 13.0%
2010/2011 - 10.5%
2011/2012 - 9.8%
Career Avg - 12,73%

Admittedly, Nash got robbed a bunch of times this season.

And that's exactly why I think it's better to ignore his current point total, because in all likelihood its meagerness is just due to a low shooting percentage which is almost guaranteed to rise over time back to his historical averages.

Frankly, if we're gonna say Nash has been robbed and his S% is bound to go up, then we can also say Gaborik has been getting great chances and getting robbed (which he has) and he is bound to start scoring again.

Except we've all been watching Gaborik for a few years and know he's terrified of getting dirty. He's all ready proven hes not snake bit because this is what he does.

He doesn't make moves like Nash, but he's not terrified of getting dirty. He's become a much different player under torts and i'm curious as to whether or not we even watch the same player. He's very good and a hard worker.

I agree.

Even Tortorella, yes, the coach who calls a spade a spade and calls out/benches his own players, said that Gaborik "goes to the dirty areas" of the ice and has changed/grown as a player, and still is.

Its an agenda. They simply dont like Gaborik's style of play, and never will. The end.

I dont think Nash will ever duplicate Gaborik's production as a Ranger, but hes more of a North American player, so its acceptable.

I have a hunch there will be a lot of odd man rushes today. That favors Derek Stepan, Carl Hagelin.

Less likely to see four lines rolled, after a bit of a break and a few guys out.

The majority of those goals last year were dirty goals.

Hes a player that really scores any way possible. Wrist, snap, slap, backhand, deke, garbage, tip, etc.

If we don't get a win in either city...Torts is GONE . Even without Nash...we have a better team than either of them clubs .

Yeah, I'm going to straight up guarantee that this has a 0% chance of happening.

That may have been true since the landscape for available HCs wasn't that good.

With Ruff available..that seat under Tort's ass has to at least jump up 100 ****ing degrees.

Not sure id want Ruff.

I know my share of Sabre fans (although thankfully in the Ranger dominated area of Upstate).

Hes not a good coach. Many say he rode a HOF goalie and balanced teams post-lockout.

Say we lose both games which would bring our record to a whopping 8-8-1 (putrid I know), do you honestly think that they'd can Torts?
