BTW, it looks like the Dodgers also extended their deadline to take Freese's option in the same way they did with Kershaw. There was clearly a lot of doing a veteran a solid with that deal (I'd say it was almost all of it), but you can probably make a pretty good argument that Freese would be a very helpful part-time player to have for next year, given our options. In some sense I hope his absence forces more decisiveness, but I'd be surprised if we really rock the boat at the corner IF spots. I'm sure the plan is cross your fingers, hope for the best, and wait for Hayes and others on the horizon.
