We are icing a 4th line with f***ING PHIL VARONE, CORBAN KNIGHT, AND JUSTIN BAILEY. Having a nice, versatile, 4th line winger on the cheap is fine. It's a safety move. Not necessary -- but of no negative effect.
$1.6 mil is dime a dozen 4th line money. It's 2 years. It's very easy to trade if a player usurps him. He has spent his career as a Flyer, enjoys it here, and he's still a useful 4th liner -- capable of 20-25 points and play driving. Of all the years with wretched 4th lines, god forbid they not want to enter into a scenario where AHLers are on the 4th line.
