Us United fans know that Rojo's defense can be very inconsistent. He can go long stretches looking good, then suddenly does something stupid that costs in a goal.

I'm no fan of Giroud, but I do believe his different profile allows France to force Argentina to still cover him because you can't leave him alone, and that allows Mbappe to cut in and outspeed the Argentinian defense.
