If Arizona Coyotes would relocate to new market, which of the above would be better. If other, please elaborate in answer.

Return of MTL-QUE rivalry or fresh start in another sunny city.

I'd say Arizona to Quebec and Columbus/Florida to Houston

That only works if two teams move at the same time, one from East to West and the other from West to East....otherwise we would be back to unbalanced Conferences again.

West GTA.

Mississauga, Brampton and Halton make up over 1.5mil, include Hamilton and you're looking close to 2.5mil population. The only thing keeping a team out of this region is politics.
Only place in Canada that would make sense but won’t ever happen

Voted Houston because of the market, but that certainly is a city that wont show out for hockey when they're bad; Quebec would be the winner in that discussion

but Houstons market is just... so big. And Texas is constantly growing in population. Im just not sure if Houston is the right market.. but since theyre replacing another team and are close by (Arizona), Id go with the boom/bust option

Houston. Quebec is a pipe dream and likely not sustainable long term

Columbus is drawing 15k-16k per night in a rebuilding year, in a pandemic. That's about the same as the Oilers attendance. They were closer to 17k a night pre-pandemic and have some of the best ownership in the league. Whatever preconceptions you have, update them. That is not a team that needs to be moved.

After decades of getting the alignment fixed and moving Toronto, Detroit, and Columbus to the East, it's hard to believe that they are going to unbalance them again

Quebec is very similar to Winnipeg in population / gdp / hockey interest. That's a perfectly sustainable operation.

Houston is more likely to be a money loser. But the league would still prefer a market like Houston, to make new fans, to get a broader footprint in the US (and thus bigger national tv contracts), and to roll the dice on success in a giant city.

Quebec City has a population of 832k. Not sure they can sustain an NHL team long term.

The only issue with Houston is, will there be enough interest in the team? Will it be a 50% empty barn all the time.

Finally, No to another NHL team in Toronto or anywhere in the GTA. This is Leafs country here.

I am from Montreal, but live in Toronto now. Is it not a 3 hour drive to Quebec City.

It's less than that. It's roughly 2h30. I use to live in Quebec City as a student and did QC-MTL all the time to see friends and family. With that said, folks from Montreal aren't filling up Quebec's arena. That's a ridiculous take from the poster you were quoting.
