According to Bill M, thjs defense also includes MacD, Coburn and Streit. Maybe those three dont play but if those 3 did with Ghost, Sanhiem and Hagg. Man going to look forward to a preseason game lol

Lineups set

After the Flyers' third day of camp, coach Craig Berube announced that eight veterans will play at the Wells Fargo Center Monday: MacDonald, Coburn, Vinny Lecavalier, R.J. Umberger, Jake Voracek, Brayden Schenn, Streit, and Ray Emery.

The rest of the lineup will be filled with prospects.

The Flyers will also have a split-squad game Monday against the Maple Leafs in London, Ontario, with assistants Ian Laperriere and Gord Murphy coaching the team. The Flyers' top line will have Sean Couturier centering Matt Read and Wayne Simmonds.

It is Simmonds' first time back in London since a fan threw a banana peel toward him in a 2011 exhibition game.

Lines according to Bill M:

Gordon-Schenn-Voracek
Umberger-Vinny-Straka
Leier-Jones-AK
Hextall-VV-Mathers

MacD-Coburn
Sanheim-Streit
Hagg-Ghost

AK is on the 2nd PP with Umberger and Schenn.

Seems like Gordon might be a front runner if a player goes down. Flyers like their AHL vets though so nothing new there.

Hagg-Ghost might be an AHL pairing.

looks to me they are just trying to develop chemistry, keeping two guys who will play together on the same line without messing up other lines.

Zepp starting, Emery coming in mid-game.

You sure? Sam Car just tweeted Emery is starting.

Yep you are right. I think it would of been better to put Gordon with Jones and Leier but seems like they like Gordon.

Awesome, what a great opportunity for Sanheim to play with a guy like Streit in his first pro experience

Really excited to see the Hagg-Ghost chemistry start to form here, which I hope to see a lot of in LV this season

Nice opportunity for Straka as well

AK is on the 2nd PP with Umberger and Schenn.

Seems like Gordon might be a front runner if a player goes down. Flyers like their AHL vets though so nothing new there.

Hagg-Ghost might be an AHL pairing.

I know it's exhibition, but how is Schenn supposed to get used to LW if we move him to C every time there is an injury? I would rather throw in a C in Giroux's spot and let Schenn focus on playing LW the way Berube wants him to.

I want to watch the other game but I don't want to watch on an online stream. Why must the hockey gods torture me like this?

You're not getting much value from these games when more than half of the rosters are made up of guys he won't be playing in the NHL this year. This game specifically is being split into two rosters, he was playing center by default tonight just based on pure numbers.

Berube's not going to break up Couturier/Read so that leaves your choices down to Vinny, Laughton, etc. to center Schenn & Voracek. Vinny would be a disaster as proven last year, Laughton's a complete wildcard, & the other choices aren't really anything to write home about.

Even if Schenn makes the transition to LW primarily it would be stupid to forfeit his versatility to play down the middle in case of injury or whatever.
