Meet Gritty: The Flyers' new team mascot

Of note: Both Wally and Gritty seem to have the same disturbing "fat hula-hoop" body. And they both have same basic origin story - they've been "hiding" in the stadium/arena for years, and came out when disturbed by renovation or noise or something.

But hey - if the kids like 'im, good for them. All I want tonight is no injuries!

Yeah I don't know who OK'd that but it's definitely giving some people some nightmares.

I don't think any of us expected him to make the team, but I would've liked to see Senyshyn challenge more for a spot and make it harder for him to be cut. I'm not giving up on him, but I think he really needs to show big time improvement in Providence this year.
