While waiting for someone to figure out how to do a prospect poll (I have no clue), here's my list and why.
[Bunnaman (23), graduated, no longer rookie eligible]
First group are close to NHL locks:
1. Frost (22) - still technically a rookie, this should be his breakout season.
2. York (20) - might start at LHV, won't be there long
3. Allison (24) - once healthy, solid finish in college, blew through the AHL, showed top 6 NHL potential
4. Foerster (19) - flashed enough at 18 in the AHL to be close to NHL ready
5. Brink (20) - disappointing season on bad Denver offense, but look for a rebound this fall
6. Zamula (21) - just needs a little more AHL seasoning, but destined to start this spring or next fall
7. Wisdom (19) - may not have enough skill for top 6, but could be dominate bottom 6 pesky forward
The next group has a good chance of starting, if not in Philly, somewhere:
8. JOB (22) - nice bounceback, needs a full college season before going pro
9. Hogberg (22) - struggled a little with NA transition, full season will help, solid 3rd pair prospect
10. Andrae (19) - struggled a bit in the SHL at 18, but that's to be expected
11. N Cates (22) - off year offensively but still a solid bottom six prospect with high IQ
12. Tuomaala (18) - we'll see if he's for real in Liiga, if he can handle a man's league at 18, sky's the limit
13. Desnoyers (19) - outperformed expectations, may be bottom six, but quality bottom six
14. Attard (22) - size, scores goal, can he play a two way game?
15. Ratcliffe (22) - showed a little improvement, project needs to step up or become a suspect
16. Lycksell (21) - flashes talent but hasn't put together the big offensive season
17. Millman (20) - wasn't ready for the AHL last season, needs to show he can physically handle pro hockey
18. St Ivany (22) - big RHD has improved, needs to show he's more than a 3rd pair fill-in
This group is more marginal, need to step up to be considered NHL caliber:
19. Wylie (22) - didn't show anything special, didn't embarrass himself in first AHL season
20. Rubtsov (23) - has to show some offensive chops in the AHL
21. McClennon (19) - given his size, has to be an elite CHL scorer to have a chance
22. Sushko (22) - needs to be top checker, PK guy to have a chance
23. Zandetti (18)
