Justin Rose of the Fort McMurray Oil Barons was named the Canalta Hotels Alberta Junior Hockey League player of the week on Monday.

Rose, a native of Gibbons, scored five goals and one assist in three Oil Barons victories last week.

The 20-year-old has registered at least one point in nine of 12 games for Fort McMurray and leads the Oil Barons with eight goals.

Dustin's brother, I presume? If so, he's got some very big skates to fill. Still have never seen a player with Dustin's overall game.

Probably because had Dustin stuck with hockey he would have re-invented the game.

i dont know the history of his brother or if the OP is being sarcastic but a 20yo playing jr A has next to no chance of ever playing in the NHL and prob very little chance of playing any pro hockey

Dustin was a player unlike anything we've seen before or since. It's a shame what happened with him. I don't see his brother Justin as much of a prospect though.

From the games i've seen Rose is going to be a huge star one day, I think he has a much better chance to put it all together than his brother did

Many 20 yr old jr A players go on to play pro....and alot of them in the NHL & AHL.

Pfft, if he had an ounce of his brother's talent, he would have been the player of the week every week from the age of 7... while playing in a completely different league.
