Sprong provides goal scoring which we lack.
Montreal really doesnt need Sprong, but he may be a good and for depth on the RW. I was looking to help 2 players who dont have a place in their respective team. I didnt know the ducks fans valued the guy so much, just thought Sprong was not in the plans for the Ducks. I really dont mind keeping Hudon as depth. Maybe Guldobin, Dano or Petan would be better targets?

You do realize that the Ducks aren’t here to just help fix Montreal’s issues right? You’ve completely ignored why the Ducks would make this trade.
Sprong cannot fix MTL issues but he may add depth.

No from Anaheim. We still like Sprong a lot, his upside is much than Hudon's. We waived him to try to get him through while several other players were also on waivers in hopes of him clearing so that he could round out his game in the minors. We are still very high on him and his upside.

Who cares what their arbitrary "value" is? A trade proposal involves convincing another team to trade their piece to you. This isn't grocery shopping, this is bartering. What does Hudon provide for the Ducks that would make them say yes to this trade?
you are involving your emotion toward Sprong too much because he was a Pens.

Uh, I ripped on Sprong literally all of the time before he was moved. He was an entirely 1-dimensional player who couldn't do anything outside of take 1-timers. However, that's not relevant to this thread because what I said is totally true. You need to come up with a package that would convince the Ducks to move Sprong.

I don't think it's that Ducks fans are against moving him in principle, so much as don't see the value in trading him for something we don't need just to make a trade. Ducks have too many wingers which is why Sprong was waived to start with. Trading him for another wing we also don't have room for who is older and not a clear upgrade is pointless.
