Often it's about getting the necessary practice time too. But in this case, he's getting at least a few sessions.

This is the opening night lineup barring any injuries between now and Tuesday (unless Jake makes a surprise appearance in the opener).

I sure hope our top 4 defensemen can play 50+ minutes a night. Maybe the top 6 forwards too.
