There is being optimistic, then there is being delusional. 117 points is almost guaranteed a Presidents Trophy and would be one of the best teams in the NHL in the last 20 years. The Flames aren't going to win the Presidents Trophy, let alone be one of the top teams over the past 20 years.

A win tonight and we clear San Jose and Anaheim by 7 points. Boy that would be nice. Just look at the division though. #2 and #3 seed being propped up by lose points, 7 of the 8 teams in the division having a bad/horrible goal differential, then you have the greatest team of all time, the Flames, with a really good goal differential, a really good home record (f*** you Gulutzan) and a fairly decent road record, points all coming from wins and not being LOSERS like Anaheim and San Jose.

In terms of wins and losses, the Flames are 8 games above .500 and both San Jose and Anaheim are a game under .500. It's a joke really. Even Edmonton and Vegas are above .500, but both below because not even loser points.

Started reading this thread and wondered why so many posters were picking San Jose to finish 1st in the Pacific. Odd given how well the Flames are playing and how poorly the Sharks are playing. A few posters even predicted the Kings will finish 2nd or 3rd.

Then I looked at the post date.... Oct. 2..... LOL
