We are close to the start of the 2016-17 Season - let's predict our team's opening day rosters:

Montreal Canadiens:

Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Gallagher
Lekhonen - Plekanec - Radulov
Carr - Desharnais - Shaw
Flynn - Mitchell - Byron
Danault, Andrighetto

Weber - Beaulieu
Markov - Petry
Emelin - Pateryn
Redmond

Price
Montoya

I would be surprised if Sergechev makes it, although he has looked great. McCarron is likely first call up in the event of an injury. Carr is the only one not eligible for waivers in the lineup above if he is sent down but he has likely forced their hand with his play this pre-season.

What does your team look like?

Schenn -- Giroux -- Simmonds
Konecny -- Couturier -- Voracek
Raffl -- Cousins -- Weise
Bellemare -- Gordon -- Read
Laughton
VandeVelde

Del Zotto -- Gostisbehere
Provorov -- Gudas
Schultz -- Streit
Manning

Mason
Neuvirth

Well... actually Schenn is suspended and therefore I imagine that Raffl shuffles into 1LW, Read goes to 3LW and one of Laughton or VandeVelde slots in on the 4th line... but they would be my best bet on lines when Schenn not suspended.

Danault will 100% sure in the starting lineup...... he's amazing defensively. Flynn could be in the AHL.

Man that's painful to watch. Especially from the reigning cup champs.

Pretty crazy that in all those years, the organization couldn't manage to develop internally one single decent top 6 winger.

*Although pre-season has been rough with Kulikov, Bogosian, O'Reilly and Okposo all suffering injuries (although all appear minor) and Ristolainen's contract uncertainty so this is quite up in the air at this point*

It's crazy how that lineup could potentially win a cup. It's pretty ugly haha... but then again imo pens lineup always looks rough but somehow do real well.

Are they really gonna break up HBK? I mean, I know you (and obviously the Pens coaches) watch Pitt more than me, but I was under the impression that their ability to roll 3 lines is what won them the Cup. Crosby and Malkin can carry a line on their own, so then it makes sense to keep together Hagelin Bonino and Kessel, especially considering how well it worked, no?

Nail is slowly playing himself off of the starting day lineup true but you have forgotten about Puljujarvi who's shown that he will at least start the season here. that said, if the forward lines are close to what you have above, then likely Versteeg sits.
