heck
It might be a bad idea, but does anybody think I should take this to the main board and gather more opinions?

If you're talking about asking them just about the Canucks, it's a bad idea.
If it's a predict your team's point total thread, there is one of those every week already.

Specifically about the Canucks, their data will go in a separate pile and we can draw conclusions based on the mix, both parts alone, and the difference between the two. The worst case is that it gets trolled and I could care less about that.

I think I have a thread to make.

Like I said, it's a really bad idea. Chances are that a mod will move the thread to the Canucks board.

If that happens it happens. I'm interested in getting some numbers from outside of the fanbase to balance what might be homerism in here. If it flops it flops and I'll take whatever blame might come.

It's not like our fanbase is generally the most optimistic heading into this season. Many have the Sedins on a decline, and I think third place is the leader for division standing in another poll.

Assuming all are healthy (yeah right). But I think the Canucks are poised for a suprisingly good year.

*Puts on rose-coloured glasses*

D. Sedin - Kesler - Kassian
(28-50-78 / 31-36-67 / 17-22-39) [76 goals]
Booth - Hank - Burrows
(23-15-38 / 18-62-80 / 27-23-50) [68 goals]
Higgins - Horvat - Hansen
(16-20-37 / 18-16-36 / 15-23-38) [49 goals]
Mallett - Richardson - Weise
(3-2-5 / 4-8-12 / 5-5-10) [12 goals]

AHLers and scrubs: ~ 4 goals

Hamhuis - Bieksa
(5-24-29 / 9-30-39) [14 goals]
Edler - Corrado
(12-33-45 / 6-12-18) [18 goals]
Garrison - Tanev
(17-19-36 / 2-13-15) [19 goals]
Weber
(2-5-7) [2 goals]

Luongo (37-16-6, 2.21 GAA, 0.925 SV%)
Lack (13-7-3, 2.36 GAA, 0.919 SV%)

262 goals in total.

*Notes/predictions:

- Horvat makes the team and fits in well between Higgins and Hansen. "HHH" line created.
- Sedins split up 5 on 5, Kassian and Booth fit in will on their respective lines and create space. Kesler playing with Daniel passes more. The twins play together when up a man.
- Corrado makes the team and is paired with Edler on the #2 PP unit. #1 is Garrison and Bieksa.
- Luongo nominated for Vezina.
- Canucks win division.

Care to be a little more detailed?

After the top line there's a huge drop of, I don't see Kesler ever playing a full season again. Booth, Kassian, Higgins, Hansen, Schroeder are all meh, lack of consistent offence. Who the hell knows what system Torts will use. :help:

Hey guys, just bumping this so any late comers can lay down a guess before the season gets too far in. So far they're scoring at a 2.89 GPG pace which I don't think is too bad for a team that has 'trouble scoring'. Anyway, lay some virtual cred on the line and take a crack at things.

It's been shown that large enough crowds are really good at predicting things accurately so I'll be adding this to the OP and looking for more data points.

58 games in and the Canucks are on pace for 202 goals. Looks like ginner classic was the closest and leads the pool so far. Should be interesting how this unfolds.

Disappointing on Edler and Garrison's production so far
