Not sure how high I want McDavid yet.

The safe bet is:

1. Crosby
2. Ovechkin
3. Malkin
4. Tavares
5. Backstrom
6. Stamkos
7. Seguin
8. Giroux
9. Getzlaf
10. Kane

With some regression for Benn, Hall sniffing around there etc.

Crosby
Giroux
Tavares
Stamkos

Will Giroux continue his trend?

2011 11th in scoring
2012 3rd in scoring
2013 13th in scoring
2014 3rd in scoring
2015 10th in scoring
2016 ? 3rd again?

Assuming healthy seasons (so the real numbers will be a bit lower probably)-

Crosby- 104
Malkin- 101 (bounceback season, which I'm sure he'll follow up with a 70 point season in 16-17)
Tavares- 92
Seguin- 86
Benn- 83
Ovechkin- 82
Kane- 79
Stamkos- 77
Giroux- 77
Voracek- 76

Scoring isn't going up but I expect the leaders will get higher totals than this year. Leaderboards do not scale linearly with league scoring levels. Individual circumstances affect them. I don't expect Crosby to get the mumps again or the Pens to be so depleted and messy, and like I said I think Malkin is due for another of his huge spikes that come right when his stock is at its lowest, so right off the bat the high end might see a big boost and look less ugly.

McDavid won't be top 10.

I think he'll get close and it wouldn't shock me if I he snuck in on the bottom half. Crosby was 6th at 18 and I think McDavid will be coming in just a tad below his level. And he'll potentially be part of a hugely talented line. People forget that Hall has produced like a superstar before (because people have the memory capacity of goldfish) and that could be an amazing duo.

With league scoring on the decline.

1. Crosby tied with Seguin Benn and Karlsson all with 80 points in 81 games.

They all happened to score in each game they played first. However Benn missed the first game of the season because of the flu so he sat out the first game. Then Seguin got the flue the second game so he sat out.

Each player ended up with 35 goals and 55 assists.

All 4 players scored at 19:30 left in the first. The GMs checked the millisecond and it also was the same for all players with .4 seconds.

After lots of debate the GMS decided the Art Ross for the 1st time in history will be shared between 4 people

5. Ovechkin 66 goals 13 assists. Ovechkin wins the richard
6. Backstrom 11 goals 66 assists
7. Mcdavid the next one to not live up to rificulous expectations
8. Goat Kane he's a goat what more do you want
8. Eric Staal he's a big boy
10. Malkin the only player to get more points then games played however missed 21 games due to chronic _______ so came in 10th of scoring with 61 games and 71 points

If you have first pick in a points only hockey pool, Sidney Crosby is the best bet.

2nd though...I'd probably go Tavares, then Ovechkin, then Malkin

I think Giroux can break the 35 mark and I'd be surprised to see Ovi score anywhere less than 12 points. But not the worst predictions, your numbers seem pretty close.

I think Pacioretty could earn a nomination for the Top 10 scoring bid... If Galchenyuk has a break out year as a #1 centre I could see either of them (especially if Bergevin picks up a true Top 6 RW, or Scherbak is ready) reaching the 70-75 point plateau. It's surprising seeing all these players with 90+ points... Nobody reached it this year, and I don't see it going back up anytime soon.

For all of you who have taken this season's numbers and changed them a bit, it never works this way

If Kessel isn't even an honourable mention for this, there is no way Patches and Galch are in the discussion, and that's no insult.

LOL. The leading scorer over the past half decade (while still being young and improving today) doesn't crack a single persons list. Kessel will be top 5, like always

Not really. If you honestly expect McDavid to hit 85 you're gonna have a bad time. I think most of these are people thinking they're funny.

Either you or me has bad reading comprehension.

McDavid will likely get as many points as Hall if not more because he's centering Hall. There's also a good chance he's centering Yakupov. If McLlelan is running the PP, that will definitely favor McDavid.
