Rubtsov with 1g and 1a.

Rubtsov taking a step up would be a huge addition, but I think he'll have to do that in LHV, he'll probably only play one exhibition game, though with the injuries, he might get a longer look since it's between him and Bunnaman as the first call up at center.

I think the AHL players each get one game out of the first two, then get shipped out.
The veterans play three games to get their legs.
The guys fighting for spots get four games to show their stuff.

Sounds about right. In previous seasons they have had as many as 8 preseason games.

2019-20 Preseason appearances and ice times
Twarynski played 6 out of the 7 games.

Vorobyev lead all forwards with 7 games played.

Myers and Folin both played 6 games.

Patrick and Konecny both played seven preseason games.

BSchenn and Gagner finished as the only guys to play six games. Medvedev lead the defense with five.

One fewer chance to get injured.

As much as I was pessimistic about Tanner and Wade staying healthy, I kind of can't believe they are already both out hurt.

Haha, really?

I don't think Wade has started a season healthy since we've drafted him. He's going to be the most frustrating player, IMO, because there's so much talent packed into a glass frame.

I sincerely hope I am wrong on this!

AV:

"But I can tell you, most of the guys that aren't playing tonight will be in Game 2. Then after that, we've got three games in four nights. We'll probably keep the same numbers, but we're going to be getting looks — there are certain guys that I've already identified in my mind that I want to see at least four times to make sure I get a good read on where they are and if they can help our team, whether it be right now or at a future date."

To me that's probably Zubtsov, Foerster, Sandin, Bunnaman, York, Zamula, Wylie.

Wylie is a complete afterthought at this point in time imo. He will be an early cut is my guess.

Not so sure. They've kept York and Zamula on the left side, while Sanheim could move to RHD, when Morin returns he's strictly a LHD.
So if there's an injury to a RHD, AV probably wants to see how far Wylie has progressed, especially if Hogberg is out for an extended period.

AV likely has no idea who Wylie is......not like he is this hotshot prospects on peoples radar.

Can't believe Rasmus van de Leestolainen isn't playing in front of the home crowd. Slap in the face.
Was really hoping for him to play. Cant wait for the first big hit that actually doesnt cost a goal at the own end at WFC. The crowd will love him and he will love them. The guy likes to smash and get smashed.
