Why is it always the Islanders in the preseason?

I'm assuming we play them 4 more times in the next week.

It isn't unusual to have multi-year contractual agreements with opponents partly to minimize travel and reduce any conflicts with establishing dates. The Penguins, to my memory, have a rotation with Chicago, Columbus, Buffalo and Detroit more so than heading further east and playing the Flyers, Devils, Islanders, Rangers, etc.
