I lost it now but I just saw an article about a new look at the PP. I think the first unit had Steve Ott in it, and the second unit had 5 forwards. I think it was something like:

Z - Mantha - Tatar - Ott - ???
Larkin - Vanek - Nielsen - Nyquist - AA

It's not set in stone but Blash was looking at it in practice. I guess Ott has played the PP his whole career, so that could be good. Dunno what I think of the 5 forward group though.

The neutral zone drop pass (a Detroit original), is still used by 90% of the league. The good news for you is that we have largely abandoned it. Not for any strategic purpose mind you, but because our players are too undisciplined to properly communicate and execute it.

Maybe it's used by 90% of the league, but it's not used for 90% of zone entry attempts.
