Didn't Potters contract expire this year anyways? Don't see that much value for an extra spot for the rest of this year.

If true it still helps at this trade deadline, if he needs flexibility to make a move / take back another contract to make something happen.

Like others have said, with Edmonton's luck Potter will most likely anchor the 3rd pairing for the Bruins during a long playoff run.

Been a potter supporter for a long time. I am not surprised he got claimed by such a defensive savey team. Great depth d man. By far our best #6/7 guy over the last few years.
