Sad/ Bad fact: The NHL is sucking world hockey dry of all the best talent and leave coffee money on the counter. World hockey would be much better off without a communistic, vampiric entertainment industry that decided this sport to leech on.

Devils will resign Hall. He's indicated his desire to stay and it will get done pretty painlessly. Islanders are a top 5 farm system.

you want to talk about no future, Rags are in for about a decade of irrelevance. You have absolutely nothing anywhere on the horizon. And the guys you've graduated are not impressing at all. But hey par the course for a franchise that's won 1 cup in 80 years

This will help explain...

I will say not many Ranger fans I know act this way, but then you have that poster living up to the hype.

Leafs have only had 100 pts and over 4 times. The most is 105 pts which they did last year
100 point seasons being somewhat common greatly deals with 80+ game seasons, the addition of more teams and the addition of 1 point for making it to overtime.

From 73-74 to 98-99, 88 teams finished with 100 points or more. Over that span of 25 seasons (+1 lockout), roughly 3.5 teams per year finished with 100 or more points. 11 of those came in the 84 game seasons of 92-93 and 93-94.

From 1999-2000 to 17-18, 148 teams have had 100 or more points. That is 17 seasons (+1 lockout) for an average of 8.7 teams per season with 100 or more points.

If the NHL isn't the best hockey league in the world the NHL wouldn't exist. Not as we know it, anyway. Especially not in the US. Hockey isn't soccer.

The logo on Toronto Maple Leaf sweaters is made of finely spun puppy innards. It takes about a half dozen puppies to make each one. Think of all those puppies...

It's the best league on the planet (by far) and the best players in the world want to play in the best league.
If lower leagues are upset about their talent leaving for greener pastures, it's up to them to offer incentive for them to stay.

In a soon-to-be 32 team league, from a purely statistical standpoint most fans can expect to see their team win only 2-3 Cups in their lifetime.

[I think most of us know that, but just try not to think about it or at least hope some other fans get less than their share ;)]

I'll be satified with 1

Let me tell you a little story about Bruce McNall. Bruce became majority owner of the LA Kings in 1988 having purchased Jerry Buss's remaining shares in the team. Almost immediately he organized one of the biggest trades in NHL history that sent Gretzky to LA. After the failed Stanley Cup run in 1993, Bruce McNall defaulted on a loan of 90mil from BofA and was forced to sell the team. As it turned out, Bruce had swindled six banks out of a total of 236mil over the course of 10 years. Even after shedding salary, the Kings were forced into bankruptcy in 1995 leading to further financial troubles for years to come.

After spearing rising star Henry Boucha in the eye (derailing a promising career) Dave Forbes skated over to his bench only to be patted on the back by his Coach... Don Cherry.
