Maybe try a different draft system.

Instead of doing it the regular draft way, an interesting idea is everybody chooses 10 players plus 1 goalie. The 10 players can be any position. Or you could go 12 players or whatever others are comfortable with.

The chances of a tie are remote but you could have a tie breaker of who wins Gold, then Silver.

Hey guys I'm going to do another draft but it's going to be quite different.

Pick 15 players (any position) plus one goalie.

One point for goals and assists, one extra point for a power play goal ONLY, two extra points for a short handed goal ONLY. Two points for a goalie win and an extra two for a goalie shut out.

Wins are regulation, OT or a shoot out.
No points for a loss in regulation, OT or a shoot out.

The chances of identical teams is remote but in the event of a tie, we'll have 3 tie breakers.

First, predict who wins Gold.
Second, predict who wins Silver.
Third, predict who wins Bronze.

In summary:

pick 15 players and 1 goalie.
one point for goals and assists.
an extra point for a power play goal only.
two extra points for a short handed goal only.
no extra points for power play or short handed assists.
two points for a goalie win
two extra points for a goalie shut out.

In the very unlikely chance of a tie:

Tie breaker will be predict who wins Gold. If still tied, predict who wins Silver. If still tied, who wins Bronze.

Sounds complicated.....but it isn't.
