Man my Presidents Trophy dream might be dead already. I knew it was delusional of me to think that for once the Oilers could start out strong and sustain it. Especially considering Hollands do nothing offseason. Looking like we’ll need that long runway once again to find our game… which means our chances of making it past teams like the Knights or Avs will be about the same as the last time out.

Why would anyone dream of winning the President's Trophy? There's a pretty big body of evidence that being 1st in the league vs 4th, 5th, 6th in the league doesn't impact Stanley Cup chances very much (which is what we should actually care about).
