So Kadri is going to have his best season ever despite this being a season where he gets less ice time due to Mathews being the go to guy?

Also Marincin isn't going to more than double his career high in points

Are people expecting scoring to go way up this season? :help:

So many projections include their team having five or six 50+ point scorers. Only way that happens (ie. the frequency this thread suggests) is if the offense goes back to the first or second year after the 2005 lockout.

Part of it is everyone assumes ~80 games per player. That's obviously distorting the matter but it's easier to estimate the full season production than to try and come up with some other system.

Then of course you also have crazy homers inflating the numbers. Millions of crazy homers.

Even if one projected over a full 82 games, people don't seem to understand just how difficult it would be for more than 3 or 4 of their players to reach 50+ in today's league.

That is not the opening lineup, but I think that is what we are going to see if Hawks won't get any players from TDL.

These are 82 game paces since half the roster will be injured over the course of the season.

Top line LW will be a revolving door and who knows whos there by the end of the season.

3 70 point players?
4 60 point players?
Were there any teams with that many last year?

Off the top of my head, Washington and San Jose both had three 70+ point players.

Dallas barely missed out on the four 60+ point players, as Klingberg finished with 58 points. Plus, Pittsburgh came close last year, with Kessel (59 points) and Malkin (58 points in only 57 games) on the cusp.

It might be a stretch, but it's not so outlandish. At least not as outlandish as some predictions in here listing their mediocre offensive clubs finishing with five or six 50+ point guys. :sarcasm:

Last year, Florida had (6) 50 pt players. Barkov and Huberdeau both had 59pts but both missed some games due to injury so we bascially had (4) 60 pt players. Not as rare as you think.

It is, because the three forwards play on different lines and none will be playing 20 minutes a night.

Crosby and Letang did it, Malkin was a couple points off, Kessel was a point off.

That's with Mike Johnston ruining a third of the season.

You really don't think it's possible?

So 1 team out of 30 accomplished the feat, and that's not considered rare?

My issue is, if you base next season on what people are projecting in this thread, it looks like half the teams in the league will end up with five or six 50+ point scorers on their team.

Additionally, Florida finished, what, 6th in goals for last year? So they were among the better offensive clubs. I'm seeing people on here projecting teams who are projected to be bottom five, bottom ten offensive clubs accomplishing the feat.

That's my issue.

It's not even the number of 50 pt scores, it's the people that have their 4th liners all getting 30 pts.

Crazy.

Like this one for the Flames.

Except for the Chiasson + Hamilton. I don't want them on the top line and don't think they'll get 31 points combined.

Brodie is also a bit high. I think Hamilton and Gio will end up above him.
