I think people need to pump the brakes a bit on their proclamations on PLD. He's still only played a handful of games with us, after sitting a long while and getting likely a groin injury which does not just become 100% When you get a core injury, they likely won't completely heal until they get a good month to 6 weeks off the ice (read - offseason). He's also still very young. He has more to learn about being a centre, and can improve on faceoffs. I think the Jets need to bring in a specialist to train our centres in taking draws, as I think we can definitely get better at it, not only with our FT centers, but with converted wingers like Perrealt, Copp, Wheeler.

I'd be playing PLD beside Stastny right now. I'm not sold on Connor-PLD-Ehlers at all, they can attack well on the fly, but their shifts aren't sustained in the offensive zone nearly enough, for the talent. I'd be bumping Connor back up with Scheif and Wheels, and having Stastny protect PLD in the circle. And the old man gets to the net, where you score goals from in the NHL. If Copp-Stastny-Ehlers were successful, I think Dubois can replicate, and probably better the elements that Copp brought to that line.

I've mentioned before that I'd like to see Stastny with PLD. Ehlers and Connor are like wild broncos - fast, unpredictable and not particularly safe (defensively). Statsny is a veteran with great hockey sense.

I'd give the Connor-PLD-Ehlers line a bit more time to figure out the offense. If they have to switch lines, I'd be inclined to move Ehlers to the top line and shift Stastny to RW with PLD and Connor. I just don't trust Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler at this point.
