Gardiner was a forward in high school, but scouts told him he wouldn't make it as a forward, so he switched to defense.

Also, I believe Sidney Crosby is a ball hockey goalie....maybe he could play goal?

Shea isn't good enough with the puck, but as I said in another post, I think Roman Josi could be serviceable up front if called upon in an emergency. Probably Ryan Ellis too.

I don't think any Canuck is a prime candidate for switching positions. We have arguably the least offensively talented blue lines in the league, and I can't picture any of our forwards switching to defense (which I believe is a hell of a lot harder)
