Was Al Arbour the 1st NHL player to wear glasses while playing? They were certainly a signature piece of equipment. Well do I remember him being quite the prolific shot blocker & one of the best at it in his day, and when I first saw him doing it with glasses on wondered (like most kids would I guess) if they werent just "protective goggles".
