dude, none of these overalls make any sense, nobody would buy the game if they were like this, brayden coburn had a good season so you make him -6, giroux becomes captain-2, Clarkson does wicked, 78 overall, you give nashville 1 skater above 80, justin schultz was one of the best rookie defensemen, so you make him 78, huberdeau wins calder, 78, gaborik 84, jack johnson 82? really? Erik Johnson 80, cause you know they are just gonna drop 8 overall on a top minutes defensemen. Skog wins calder and named captain, 80 overall. TJ Brodie, Mikael Backlund and Lee Stempniak have probably the best season of their careers, and they are all below 80. Giordano will forsure be an 85-87 next game. Cammalleri an 82? What a joke. And you think they will drop Tyler Myers down to a 78? down 9 overall? wow, just wow. Im sure you would put all your favorite teams players up in the 90s.

Honestly, these are pretty bad IMO.

Most in not all guys are way to low and this is coming from someone who actually prefers the skill gap in this years game compared to past games in terms of a rank.

Top line Players(PPG Forwards/Top pairing Dmen) should all be 85+ no question about it.

Then the boarderline Top line/2nd liners should be in the 82-85 range.

2nd liners should all be 78-83ish.

3rd liners 75-80

4th liners 75 or lower

2nd pairind Dmen should be 79-84

3rd Pairind 78 and lower.

Ill do just the Avs(My team) and what I think they should be.

I like the Flames ratings, but up Brodie's OVR, the guy Is looking like a #2 defenseman.

Bolded are all way to high. The bottom 6 forwards are going to be lower 70's based on NHL 13's rankings. Same thing with the bottom pairing Dmen.

And theres not a chance in hell Budaj gets above an 80. Even the best backups are only mid-high 70's. Budaj will be around a 75.

Yeah, here's the problem though and anyone who customizes their rosters for BAGM will tell you this: Anyone below an 80 is out of the NHL within 3 years (usually less) regardless if they're under contract or not.

A 75 overall goaltender is generally listed as a minor league backup. Is Budaj a minor league backup or an NHL backup? NHL backups are 79-83 OVR after a single season in NHL 13.

Of course, I hope EA actually re-works their rating system (instead of just saying it but not actually taking the steps to implement it properly), but we all know that will never happen. We're going to get the same garbage system we got this year where mediocre 24-year-old prospects 3-star who will probably never see the light of an NHL arena in real life take all the bottom 6, bottom pair, and backup positions in the league after 1 season.

How EA's system really is in BAGM after 1 season (using November rosters):

88-95 OVR = Elite (Top 30 forwards)
85-88 OVR = 1st liner (Top 90)
82-85 OVR = 2nd liner (Top 180)
79-82 OVR = 3rd liner (Top 270)
78-79 OVR = 4th liner (Top 360)
76-78 OVR = Depth (Top 450)

I really did not base myself on the current ratings at all. EA ratings are a joke and way too high overall. Most 2nd/3rd line players are interchangeable and should be around 77-82 overall, like I posted above. It's important for guys like Stamkos or Kovalchuk to have big gaps versus 2nd tier players.

I really don't care if Myers is an 86 or Marc-Andre Bergeron and 84, we all know EA knows squat about rating NHL players. I have rated most players on the ''low'' to keep things realistic. If you look at the ratings in relation to all the others I've posted, they are good IMO. If you think 3rd liners should be 80 ov and most of the teams 84, then that's your problem.

You gotta put things in perspective. I'm looking at the ''fix'' the CBJ guy did on my ratings for the Jackets. Gaborik has been pretty hot and cold and injuries have slowed him down, he's an 88? Atkinson 80? Johansen 82? Those two have barely played 30 good NHL games. If those are your ratings for CBJ, then Crosby is 107, Ovechkin 104 and Stamkos 101. Sorry man.

Cammalleri 87? Tanguy 84? WOW...... Again, where do you rank Crosby if Cammy is an 87? Crosby is not perfect, he cannot be 99 everywhere.....

Those are the parameters I have followed or thereabout. According to you Parenteau is a top of the line 1st liner? Stastny a 1st liner? Barrie a top 2nd-pairing guy? Sorry but I do not agree at all. Duchene struggled last year and had a good rebound season, but not enough to close in on Crosby or Ovechkin at all. Same for O'Reilly and Landeskog they have not proven enough yet, bump them down a little bit. You exagerated those ratings. The Avs miss the playoffs (AGAIN), may I remind you.
