You don't have to be a math whiz or have a great hockey mind to figure this out...

Pens lost their first three b2b games 24-3, so that will kill your goal differential pretty easily.

Take out those three games and they are a +5 in the rest of the games, which makes it easy to see how their record is pretty decent.

Well, obviously the three blowout loses they've suffered have hurt their goal differential, but I don't think they've been all that good in general (for a Cup winning team anyway). It seems like they win a lot of games in OT when they do win and Letang has had some major struggles.

However, I wouldn't write them off. I'm sure they're fatigued and they may be somewhat jaded. In 2016, the Penguins really turned it on late in the season and then ended up winning it all.
