-Could it happen this year? Sure. But until then pumping up any other goalie at this point until they prove they can beat Murray in the playoffs head to head is not respecting Murray as a goalie. The Pens could have the worst defense ever and its been said repeatedly the Pens have no defense for the last decade, but you still have to beat our goalie to beat the Pens in the Playoffs.

They’ve also played more games than anyone else in the league, so of course they have a higher than average point total.

Their overall record is actually pretty average, and they have been blown out a few times, which explains the low goal differential

They are on pace for 100 points. Thats a bit better than average imo.

It's largely the same defense that's won back to back Cups. The main core pieces are, anyway (Letang, Schultz, Maatta, Dumoulin, Cole).

I mean, it's one thing to say it's not one of the top 10 defenses in the NHL. It's another to say "they won't win with that defense" when they've actually done it two years in a row.

It just sounds idiotic at this point considering it was the same thing said about the defense at the start of 2016 and 2017 as well.
