Well the Pens had this guy named Zach Aston-Reese who carried Bluegar for years, but he had to be traded for Rakell. So now that Bluegar doesn’t have his crutch anymore he’s totally expendable.

He played 14 games as a Capital and had 6 points. That’s a pretty good line for 14 games being on the 4th line.

His metrics are also very solid defensively.

Larsson’s name was on the Pens CF minors list but was taken off today, there also was no press release from the pens announcing the signing.

The deal fell though and Johan Larsson is still a UFA.

He's a guy who will win the puck possession battle with ~80% defensive zone starts against the other team's scoring lines. Don't waste your time looking at the boxcars for Larry, that's not why he's good.

My belief is if they were going to trade Zucker to clear space, they would have done so by July 13th and then gone after another F (like Burakovsky) in free agency.
