Well he was the 4th best forward on the pens last year ahead of Kapanen. Jared would have been wonderful on a third line with the right players to play with. The bottom 6 forward group is now one of the weakest in the NHL

Lol…Toronto literally traded for him just for the simple fact that they could expose him. He’s going to get prime minutes now and he’s going to show people that he really just isn’t that special.

Toronto traded for him for insurance for their own third line guy that they didn't want to lose. McCann is better and gas more value than kerfoot hence why Francis decided on him instead . No brainer there . If Seattle took kerfoot dubas was quite already keeping McCann in a third line role on a forward unit that was deeper. Last season McCann outscored zucker Kapanen malkin tanev zar etx.. he was a plus 17 which was better than crosby and Jake combined. His 14 goals ranked him 4th on the team despite only playing 43 games. These are real NHL kept stats. His loss will be big ( so will tanev) . Easy prediction is McCann scores 25 plus goals and 55 points next year
