Perfect replacement for Tanev and comes in a bit cheaper, very happy with this signing.

Yes, but what keeps him in the lineup? I.e., grinder, PKer, two-way player, middle-six guy, etc.

All of the above, no sarcasm.

He’s not an offensive driver, but he chips in. He’s not a Danault-type defensive presence, but he chips in. Not a letter-wearer but he leads by example. Not a massive hitter, but a physical presence. He grinds, occasionally fights, plays within his abilities, doesn't take nights off.

Definition of the middle-6 winger who is made for playoff hockey.

That depends. Do you think 68.5% PK on the road is good because that's what we had last season?
Didn't Carter play like 10 games while both Blueger and ZAR missed significant time and Kap wasn't used on the PK?

Yep. younger and cheaper Tanev replacement. Not bad.
Slower , less hits per game and less offensive punch . At 6 foot he dont have the size pitt was looking for but comes a bit cheaper. I hope this isn't their physical presence they talked about

As per usual, you have no clue what you are talking about.

McGinn is much more established offensively than Tanev.
Yes less points in more games makes you more established!!!
Slower? Check
Less hits per game ? Check
Seems spot on.

Exactly. I just wanted to pile on. Brock is a consummate team player. Fans will love him. He is an absolute foot soldier. For 5 games a year, you'll be pretty sure Brock will pot 30 goals. He can wow you with an elite shot. But most of the time his hands aren't good enough. He is capable of playing on your top line - not a top line player, mind you - and can bury easy chances. He did that some with Aho and Turbo, just collecting easy goals after a beautiful seam pass. What I love best about Brock is he never makes a defensive mistake. He is always doing the right thing in the defensive zone. He is tough as nails and will play through any injury. One time Brind'Amour low key called him out and said that Brock played through injury better than anyone he knew other than himself.
