You never give me your money
You only give me your funny paper
and in the middle of negotiations
you break down

I never give you my number
I only give you my situation
and in the middle of investigation
I break down

Out of college, money spent
See no future, pay no rent
All the money's gone, nowhere to go
Any jobber got the sack
Monday morning, turning back
Yellow lorry slow, nowhere to go
But oh, that magic feeling, nowhere to go
Oh, that magic feeling
Nowhere to go
Nowhere to go

One sweet dream
Pick up the bags and get in the limousine
Soon we'll be away from here
Step on the gas and wipe that tear away
One sweet dream came true... today
Came true... today
Came true... today...yes it did
One two three four five six seven,
All good children go to Heaven

Oliver Cromwell, Lord Protector of England Puritan
Born in 1599 and died in 1658 September

I thought they would secure an ECHL affiliation closer to their AHL team. I'm a little surprised by this move.

I find it somewhat interesting that the affiliation is with the former Thrashers ECHL team, which as we all know Jetted northward.

WHY? What other affiliation out there is closer to Portland, goyotes, that's not already spoken for..... Didn't DM/BT already say once Buffalo bought Rochester, that Las Vegas was endangered, which is why SA was also not extended....

there are flights directly between ATL and PWM.

(Probably more like 10-15%, I'd guess.)

I seem to recall that after awhile you could just have a template for "Discussion of (enter team here) is discussed elsewhere, keep it on the subject of Phoenix!"

Oh, and I am assuming "Attack the post, NOT the poster" must have been on some hot key setup? crtl, shift BQ (be quiet) maybe? ;)

Just another Day in the Life of our dearly beloved Mods&Admins... 4000 holes in the threads, same thing found in Blackburn, Lancashire so many years ago. They counted them all. No hanging chads to deal with either. Swift justice with a sharp blade. And lest we forget the Departed, one poor guy in particular, on this side of the Border, sitting on the shores of a Great Lake trying to make out landfall...... Blew his mind out in a Car; didnt notice that the lights had changed.....

It's probably because I've been out of it for SO long as far as procedures, but wouldn't the owner only be putting money down AFTER he negotiated a lease agreement with CoG? Or is able to put a payment on the team with the NHL (I guess to gain exclusive?) before doing that?

The nhl has the right to use the arena, they have 10 one year renewal options. Like I said earlier the Cof G has zero say about it. The league could just keep renewing for the new owner. I would think the city is involved only if the new owner wants a longer term than 10 years (Insert major laugh here), or if they are asked for more money.

Reading through all those old topic titles just reminds me of an old refrain....

It. Never. Ends.

And it probably never will....

It. Never. Ends.

And it probably never will....

SPOILER ALERT!

It will end in a remote, dusty prarie outside of Cuautla, with Mayor Scruggs trying to flood the plains to make a new rink, and her city council members setting up fruit stands, clothing kiosks and a food truck in Glendale's new annexed venture, Southgate. Scott Burnside will report there are multiple unnamed parties exploring a purchase and that the deal, pardon the irony, is inminente. Gary Bettman will be praising the expansion into the final frontier of new hockey markets, at least until commercial space travel is perfected.

Sorry to all, I didn't have the patience so I read the final chapter.

Just a suggestion for those of us who have resorted to a bi-weekly drop-in to see if anything has changed...

Could someone type up a brief synopsis of where we stand at the moment, and plug it into the first post of each thread? "Previously, on Lost" style?
