So a city in the desert cuts $200k in spending for their fire department, but is banking on $15 million/year?
They are going to take a 15 million dollar insurance policy on city hall and when it burns down use the money to pay the team

Where are these "hockey fans" going to come from?

This is just a terrible development for the league. The phoenix experiment ended several years ago.

There are not enough fans in the Phx metro area to support an NHL team, period. I wish this weren't true, but it is.

It's hard to be optimistic about any of this.
