Good: Bogo. Future looks good with him. Ennis, Foligno too.

Bad: Girgs. His name was barely called.

Ugly: Hodgson. March 2nd is coming up. Can we get a bucket of pucks for him?

I took a shower instead of watchuing with about 6 minutes left because I was too nervous we might tie it up. Yep. Strong debut from Bogo. It'll be interesting to see how he handles that role for the rest of the season. Hodgson and Larsson deserved more ice time.

I watched Myers' provide offense for the Jets the other night and it stung. I thought about how much I'm gonna miss that, and then I realized I've been missing it for quite some time. And now, Risto with that huge shift at the end of the game... That was some answer. Great reminder of why we could afford to trade Myers. (Still gonna miss the guy though.)

G: Good effort, no points. Proper way to lose without being a disgrace.
Risto, Zad, Bogo... Our defense will be tough to play pretty soon.

B: I'm not even gonna do bad anymore. We're bad by design.

U: Refs must have felt sorry for Weber. Letting him get away with a puck out and trying to steal Lecavalier's jersey.

Watch out! Your pre-determined bias is showing. With flashing lights. Neon flashing lights. Neon flashing lights with streamers and balloons.

18,000 plus to watch the worst team in the league play while it feels like -15 outside. They may be quiet in there...but they still show up.

omg, it's going to be fun watching Zads and Bogo for a long time. Both played great and play a very entertaining game. Creating a Western conference team over in these here parts is going to be downright unfair. A lot of people talk about Myers going to a place where he's going to get better minutes but no one mentions how Bogo is going to flatten all these forwards in the east. It should help with his injuries.

The other Gs:
Foligno, Gionta, Neuvirth, SGE line, Mitchell

mini Gs: Benoit and Coho. I love how Bogo blatantly interfered on a number of plays and Benoit gets a penalty for interference on what that was.

B: Risto the first 2 periods or so, Ellis on the 2nd goal.

U: Can't complain

G- liked the smash first mentality Nolan has instilled on the team
- Bogo fits right in
- Zad was the offense
- Risto stepped up in the 3rd
- Zemgus was creating chances
- Stewart & Ennis still playing hard
- Foligno looks better now than he did before his injury

Any word on why Hodgson was benched? Injured? After I read the Stars scout was at the game I thought Hodgson was their target. He played well for Ruff and Dallas lost half their offense to injuries.

Bogosian flourished in his debut. He was physical, he was positionally sound, he was tough as **** in the corners and in front of the net, and he played almost 25 minutes.

He looked like a number one.

I hope this level can maintain itself. What, exactly, was the issue in Winnipeg?

The expectations that come with being the 3rd overall pick combined with some rough years.

They're asking themselves the same thing about Myers. He looked great for them and they wonder what the problem was here. The answer is he won the Calder and had some rough years.

The good news is both get away from those expectations now. Bogosian isn't our former 3rd overall pick and they didn't have to watch Myers go through those sever growing pains.

I guess being sandwiched between Doughty and Pietrangelo levies some high expectations yeah. But this was a solid game on all fronts.

Hopefully the difference between he and Myers won't be as noticeable of a drop off as I first thought.

There wasn't an issue in so far as why they traded him. Their GM simply thinks Myers is better. The issues through his tenure with the organization are that he had some injury problems and he has never been as good as his draft position.

Can we criticize Gionta for being a total nonentity, bordering on liability, yet? Or is criticism of a veteran supposed-to-be leader considered out of bounds?

Gionta & Moulson are off-limits due to specific Murray acquisitions, and Stewart since the order went down to showcase him.

Stick to Hodgson, he's a safe target. :naughty:

What's the point of being 6'8" tall, if you can't dominate physically? A huge wingspan, you say? Most of the time Myers used his long reach to grab and throw some guy on the ground, which always resulted in a penalty. Bogosian, on the other hand, single-handedly suffocated their offense. It was both very refreshing and encouraging to see that after the big trade.

Myers was never capable of doing that. He's just a lamer&lankier version of Karlsson. At least that's exactly what he's looked like on this team for the past couple of years.

On a couple of occasions, Bogosian made passes to our forwards that they weren't ready for. He's coming from a team that plays fast and we have no idea how to do that. I hope he doesn't get used to playing slow.

Our team speed is also pathetic.

I really don't think Mitchell, Flynn, Benoit, Mez and Ellis have a place in the NHL. If we're going to take our team seriously next year none of them should be back.

Agreed, and I'm pretty sure that's the plan. Mitchell is an NHLer, but on a bottom half squad.

I like Mitchell as a bottom 6er, though I think he'd be better off at wing than center. The rest can go though.
