He didn't pitch in the majors for like 6 or 7 years after Boston let him go. Ended up in Japan for like a year or two, then never got out of the minors. He retired for like 3 years and Colorado signed him at 35. Somehow last year he had like 35 saves, an ERA under 2.00 and was pitching in Coors Field as their closer.
