Seems like the perfect sort of AV acquisition. If anyone is going to get something out of a mostly nothing 4th line grinder with Faceoff ability...it's Vigneault. He's pretty savvy when it comes to deployment stuff and "specialist" players.

Adding some extra few faceoff percentage and freeing up others for some more offensive zone deployment can't hurt...for a 5th round dart in the dark.

Our PK is as average as it gets.
Penalty kill has been good. If you want to take G off to rest before playoffs, I am all ears. Now power play is as meh as you can get (although last 3 games has shown improvement).

Thompson has been solid in every facet for a 4th liner, he won't hurt you but will rarely score points so let's be honest it's not the Holy grail but the Flyers 4th line just got tougher to play against.

With Thompson and Grant, they are in business.

For the last little while, both Giroux and Couturier have been taking defensive zone FO's when the 4th line was on the ice because Bunnaman was on around 36% on them.

So not only does Thompson hopefully upgrade Bunnaman in play, but for sure on FO all will giving Giroux and Couts a break.

Will just have to keep an eye on Thompson jumping over the boards at unusual moments. Julien loved him like his long lost son so if the other team was dog tired and iced the puck out came Nate and the 4th line to take advantage of them, if the Habs scored a goal out came Nate and the 4th line to go for the throat. It never worked out but can’t blame an old dinosaur for trying.

This move screams every other team is doing something significant so let's make a move for the sake of making one. The Flyers are chasing others yet this is the best Fletcher can do? LOL

9th in the league after 63 games is the best Fletcher can do. For now.
