Appel is looking a lot more bust than boom. Probably not the worst decision to move on, especially if the Phillies value him.

Keuchel wasn't great in the minors and didn't have the strikeout stuff Appel does.

Not saying Appel will be as good as Keuchel, just saying it's hard to judge ability based on a small sample of minor league stats. He could very well mature mentally and physically and put it all together. He's definitely worth the investment.

Appel has been in the minors for about two and a half years now, thats a decent sample size.

Minor league stats can be incredibly deceiving. Especially in Lancaster.
