It's interesting that Carolina has some injuires and what do they do - insert some of their younger players as opposed to Fletcher who goes bargain basement hunting

Frost has 10 points in his last 10 games. But with Hayes back with his core injury, I don’t think Morgan is ready until he gets 50 in 50. Maybe. He needs a roster injury too. Well, more injuries. And face-offs.

Zamula with 6 points in 10 games too, without nearly the PP time of York. Going to be thrilling to see which one will be Risto’s partner next season.

Zamula may well beat York to Philly, not a knock on York, but Zamula is a year older and looked like a taller Provorov in TC the last couple years - that Russian android totally cool thang. He's added strength to that lanky frame and looks like he can now hold his own.

If the Flyers could trade Sanheim for a young 2C, it's a no-brainer. How many center prospects do we have? How many LHD prospects?
We desperately need quality at center, Frost may turn out to be a solid 3C, but hard to project him in the top six right now.

Is 10 in 10 more dominant than 4 in 5?

Jason Akeson, Phil Varone, Morgan Frost examples of point per game or very close, players that could never stick.

hope I’m wrong on the third but haven’t seen anything to suggest I am yet

I used to relish going over the stats of the propsects, but no more. It is me or does it appear none of the great prospect depth we had earlier is really panning out? Is this common for all teams and I'm just prejudiced because I only look at Flyers data? The one thing I do know is that the better teams are more willing to give their prospects a legitimate chance rather than bargain basement shopping for vet experience....

Scoring can be a false positive in the AHL, not scoring however, is concerning.
Last year's scoring leaders (Age this season)
Poturalksi (27) back in the AHL
O'Regan (27) #138 back in the AHL
Marody (24) #158 back in the AHL
Damiani (21) #137 back in the AHL
Benson (23) #32, played 4 games for Edmonton this season
De Leo (26) back in the AHL
Tynan (29) #66 back in the AHL
Barber (27) #167 back in the AHL
Mascherin (23) #100 ???
Katchouk (23) #44, played 4 games for TB this season
Dugan (23) #142, back in the AHL
Tomasino (20) #24, 12g 3-2 5 for the Blackhawks
Todd (26), back in the AHL
Novak (24), #85, 12g 0-5 5 for the Preds
Kaliyev (20), #33, 12g 3-2 5 for the Kings
Dumont (31)
Roy (28)
Cracknell (36)
Raddysh (23), #58, 11g 0-1 1 for TB
Groulx (21), #54, 15g 1-2 3 for Ducks

A lot of the scorers are undersized guys who were drafted in the middle rounds, some got a cup of coffee but couldn't stick.
All the guys who made it to the NHL were picked in the top 100.

Didn’t we sign a 2C to a pricey 7 year deal just a couple of off seasons ago? If he’s really the savior that’s going to come back and make this team a contender like so many claim, why are we trading a top 4 dman for another 2C?

Hayes wasn't signed as a savior, he was signed b/c Patrick never panned out and we had a black hole at center after Couts.
Still waiting for Frost to arrive, Rubtsov and JOB have shown little, Laczynski is hurt and Desnoyers is a year or two away.
Fortunately, Laughton is playing better at center, but he's not a long-term solution.

Missing almost all of training camp with an injury was very Provorov-like. :sarcasm:
