If no concussions.. Yes, he looked just behind Provorov in preseason last year.

I want to believe yes, but I think Hextall may lean towards the kids with the AHL experience, considering Myers contract has been sliding, his **** will jump start next year.

6 month of AHL is not such a bad idea, hopefully Gordon gone.

Myers have a legit shot at Flyers next year ?

He stayed up the longest with Provorov last preseason and their then being injur d has been phenomenal. I think there will be a debate on who makes it between Myers, Sanhiem and Morin

If he makes the Flyers Andy and Gudas would need to leave. Math would dictate he'll be a Phantom.

Tbf they could have 3 of the kids on the roster next year with no-one moved:

Provorov -- Gudas
Gostisbehere -- Myers
Morin -- Sanheim
MacDonald -- Manning

Doubt that would happen though... heavily. Two will make it to start season most likely.

I am secretly hoping against hope that with AMac playing 20+ mins a night this year some silly GM thinks he is a ~#4 Dman and would trade for him with ~35-40% retained!

Ugggh Hart just gave up 3 late goals and Everett loses a heartbreaker. Cody Glass took over at the end to score the tying goal. Then assist on the winner with 13 seconds left.

It'll never happen...because LV is going to take him in the ED. They're going to need a guy who can anchor their top pairing.

Holmgren thought he was worth $5m per year, and there's definitely worse GM's than Holmgren out there, so it'd definitely not impossible for a GM to want him now.

Will it happen? Maybe, maybe not... but it's possible.

That's great but too young. Considering our other option would be Amac we would still benefit from it.

Exactly. I've only got to see one of Allison's college games this year so far, but he's a real hockey player. Always on the puck and in the play. Skilled carrying the puck and passing it, deadly shooting in close and from far out, hits to hurt and backchecks like a demon. Love this player.

Wow sounds phenomenal. When is he expected to join the phantoms and flyers?

He stayed up the longest with Provorov last preseason and their then being injur d has been phenomenal. I think there will be a debate on who makes it between Myers, Sanhiem and Morin

If you are talking prospects, Morin was the last D cut. Although that probably had something to do with him being the veteran of the group. Sanheim and Myers got sent down the same day after the Boston game.

I don't think those 3 are all competing directly for a spot. They are going to compete for different roles. Morin if he makes it will be getting defensive minutes on the left side and PK minutes. Hagg will be competing for the same minutes as Morin but can take some shifts on the right side. Sanheim will be in the lineup to generate offense, help the 2nd PP, and take some shifts on the PK. Myers, similar to Sanheim, but without the flexibility of playing LD.

In the hypothetical scenario that Myers wasn't eligible to play in the AHL next year, I think you could make the case for him making the team out of camp. He's really talented and pretty mature physically. But there's really no downside to him starting the season in the AHL next year, especially considering all the games he has missed this season. It's a good league, he'll get challenged pretty good down there, and he can experience his growing pains away from the big stage. Much like Sanheim, he's going to need time to figure out what he can and can't get away with at the pro level.

They could add a defenseman before the expansion draft to blow this up, but I see something like this:

Provorov-MacDonald (3 more years!)
Sanheim-Gudas (Probably best to play Travis on his natural side)
Morin/Hagg-Ghost (I don't think Dave sees Ghost much more than a sheltered 3rd pair D 5v5 unfortunately. I would love to see him with Sanheim but I know that won't happen)
Manning

I'd expect him to play at least 1 more season of College Hockey. As long as he keeps progressing, he should be ready to turn pro after that.

I guess I see Morin as having the best chance of the three. I still think Sanheim starts the season in the AHL, probably with Myers also.

My feeling is more based on how long Myers stayed last season. You are correct that he was sent down with Sanheim at the same time, but I do think there is a difference with sending an AHL bound player down and a CHL bound one. Most likely they were just getting him some more experience, but in the end Myers stayed up as long as the other 3 defensive players (with one, Provorov, staying up).

I will personally be surprised if two rookies make it, but I have been wrong before.

Högberg might be done depending on how long his foot takes to heal... but not officially, in theory he will be back fit during SHL play-offs and could play for Växjö in them.

I can see it now:
Sanheim and Morin make the Flyers. Sanheim plays very well but seems weak against men at times and Morin plays solid with some expected rookie mistakes.
Coach Hakstol healthy scratches Sanheim often to play Manning over him despite Sanheim being obviously better. The usual posters complain that Morin is a bust of a first round pick and that Sanheim was overhyped and too timid for the NHL.

Ahhh, next season will be fun
