2+ minutes at the end playing 6 on 5. Sanheim doesn't touch the ice. He was the most dangerous player on the ice tonight by a mile. Thanks, Gordon.

Has to get TJ Brennan to his 25 minute a night mark...

Which today included two shifts of suck-age that basically gave the opposition two goals.

Guy is a great PP player, and good when set up in OZ. But he brings nothing else.

Laberge had a dirty shootout goal, but it was called a no-goal for some reason. Not sure why. Maybe they said he lost control? Coach and team weren't happy about it.

I saw it also. Possibly he stopped his forward momentum?

That is awful call. The puck can move backwards as long as the player is moving forward.

Love the mitts Laberge displayed there.

Lappy should inquire about a job as Ohio State's PK coach. Minnesota has 6 goals to take the lead 6-5....all 6 on the PP.

It is a tough one rule wise... technically the puck has to keep moving forward up the ice the whole way according to NHL, hockey Canada, US hockey.

But in cases where the player is still moving forwards it is virtually never called... I mean, on some of the Datsyuk & Giroux signature ones the puck goes *slightly* backwards if you freeze them frame by frame, as while they are progressing forwards still the speed of the pull-back is greater than their forward progression.

Just another reason that shoot-outs are stupid and should be abolished.

Yeah they cant call that by the letter because every time a player pulled the puck back to shoot it would nullify the goal. As long as player is moving forward they usually allow you to get away with the puck going backwards.

Think of the inbetween the leg goal by Malik..or the Datsyukian Deke..player moving forward but puck moves backwards while in possesion before the shot.

RECAP: The Lehigh Valley Phantoms (32-14-2) continue their slide in Saturday games this season, having lost their last five Saturday games and now going 7-8-1 on Saturdays overall in 2016-17.

Head coach Scott Gordon declined providing any kind of injury updates on Scott Laughton and Taylor Leier after having said the prior night that he would have an update today:

Rubtsov is on the board today with a sweet wrap around backhand goal.

The box score has the 1st goal to Roy, not Rubtsov. I guess Roy tipped it.

Rubtsov just picked up a 2nd assist on the rush just now.

But none of this matters since he came to North America, which means he's gonna bust. ;)

Those Russians on the prospect board must hate that he's doing well.

Just caught a guy to negate a 2v1 that turned into a 1v0...

stripped the puck from him from behind about 1 metre from goal. Ate up the ice to catch him... guy had a massive head start.

Got to figure after playing in the KHL, juniors must feel like everyone is moving in slow motion.
