Haven't watched him this year. Has he stopped wandering from the crease. That frequently seemed to lead to his undoing. Ned definitely has been a lot more reliable than CDS was as a Pen.

We're seeing an outlier high in Ned's career right now. You measure these kinds of things after much longer samples. Years.
DeSmith had above average backup numbers as a Penguin, no matter how much ppl wanna talk about his movement.

I notice a tweak in coverage too. It just happened when Ludvig took a shot but it got blocked, Ludvig pinched and Acciari covered, but instead of Acciari passing up Ludvig to play D he went to the guy Ludvig pinched on and then Ludvig backed up. It’s not every time but I’ve seen that a couple times. It happened in the D zone too, harder to describe what happened there but instead of someone filling in the other guy just backs up.
