Uh, Markstrom hasn’t been great this season…except when he plays the Pens lol…I’m just gonna put this here:

“Over his career Markstrom is 6-3-0 vs the Pens with a .941 save% but he’s been even better than that in recent years. Since 2019-20, Markstrom is 4-0-0 with a .977 save% against Pittsburgh and has only allowed three total goals in the four games (with one shutout). The Pens have scored 1, 1, 0 and 1 goal against him in the last four meetings, including stopping 32/33 in a win on October 25th against Pittsburgh. Scoring has been a major pain for the Pens against Markstrom, but it’s a riddle they will have to get better at tonight.”

Anyword if CDS is still gonna sit out or if our cap space is so screwed we can't even bring up a goaltender on emergency recall?

Is cap the reason we can't give Tokarski a shot at the big league?
Is he not having a career year in the AHL right now?
Even if cap wasn't a roadblock, they wouldn't make that change until the uttermost end of need.
Jarry just had a shutout anyway and CDS has been maybe slightly below average, usually playing on nights where the team's tired or just ugly defensively.

It would be nice to able to rest a goalie with a nagging injury though...

Isles and Rags keep winning…Pens still in 5th in the Metro …if they hope to leapfrog them at some point in the near future, we gotta have this game…

Yea that's what I'm wondering, isn't CDS "officially" hurt right now?

This is a game they can win. Will be interesting to see how this one goes.

Our goalie has to be better than their goalie.

As soon as you say the latter, and then see Markstrom’s numbers against us, the sooner you realize the first sentence is untrue lol

Flames and Kings. My least favorite teams to play in the West after last year.

They just play so damn well against us.

Markstroms numbers look great but it isn't only the goalie. I'm excited to watch the game as the Flames will either capitalize on our mistakes and destroy us or we will squeeze out a much needed victory.

He's been shakey lately. Of course, no better way to recoup and get back on track then to get a shit ton of easy saves from the Penguins.

Probably

That is some unnecessarily flowery language AND it reads like a stupid horoscope lol.

Omfg break up sentences please...

"Now, with a bit more than three-quarters of the regular season remaining, they could have returned from the trip with nothing more than a little leftover meal money and still not been doomed to sit out the postseason, but piling up three victories in a row had to boost their collective confidence.

And while a significant hiccup during their 5-3 win against the Blackhawks Sunday, when the Penguins surrendered a 3-0 lead before Sidney Crosby scored the game-winner at 16:46 of the third period, could have been a bit deflating, the Penguins ultimately were able to overcome that mostly self-inflicted spasm of adversity."

Two sentences. Two paragraphs. Wtf. Don't make us read this garbage @Andy99 lol lol lol

It's not just the goalie... (not an excuse, Jarry and Desmith need to cut down on the 2+ freebie goals a night)
Hopefully, they'll build off the previous shut out and we can see a more complete game with structure/position.

We need less of this....
