Gaming Control Board Chairman Tad Decker hailed today's vote as a compromise that will benefit Pennsylvania taxpayers who are slotted to receive some property tax relief based on gambling revenues.
He said he expects the board will award its first casino licenses to race tracks as early as late September and predicted four out of six potential track casinos will be in operation by late December or early 2006.
Decker said the Board will likely begin awarding licenses to stand-alone casinos by year end.
Great news!! Heres to hoping that great new arena is built in Pittsburgh and the Penguins dont move.
