Yes hathaway does, plays final min if we are winning a close game as well. Hathaway checks boxes that dont appear on the scoring sheet. He can be an asshole out there but hes our asshole.

Who would you rather have - Tanev or Hathaway?

They both play the agitator role every shift, every opportunity. Both PK. I think Tanev seems to be more comfortable with the puck but doesnt hit like Hathaway.

Hathway cap is 1.5M
Tanev is 3.5M

Id take Hathaway bc of contract

I get it, but I think the Panik-Eller-Shearly line was clicking, don't love breaking up something that was working. And I look for Ovi and Backie to drive the 1st line, not Sheary.

Connor Sheary against his former teams is basically Ovechkin 2.0

I think they are probably unable to and coach troubleshooting to get them going. It's mostly Ovechkin, Backstrom blows only as a faceoff man.

Yesterday Laviolette commented on the Oshie move by saying that he is trying to manage minutes by spreading the offense so that he can roll lines. He is worried about minutes on top players with a very compressed schedule coming. Same is true of the defense pairs. Their minutes top to bottom are very similar
