What pisses me off is that Vitale is a better hockey player in every single facet than Glass. If this wasn't the 4th line we were talking about here, it would be a borderline fireable offense.

Well yeah I'd obviously play Vitale over Glass as well , just felt that was even more unrealistic

I'd go as far as to say Vitale is better in every facet than Adams too.

Basically I think 2/3 of our 4th line should not even be seeing the ice in a healthy lineup.

How did you see the Super-Secret memo from Gary Bettman to all of the NHL officials.

On a different topic, Vitale has been an injured scratch, right?

Is Vitale is the dog house or is DB actually dumb enough to think Glass and Adams are actually better hockey players? Vitale gives it his all every shift and provides so much energy to the bottom line. Is Glass more popular among the players? I'd love to know disco's thinking.

So the question is what are the best players to play with Malkin (either with Neal in or without Neal)?

My guess:
Kunitz-Malkin-Neal (with Neal)
Kunitz-Malkin-Jokinen OR Kunitz-Malkin-Bennett (without Neal)

We will probably never see any of these lines, but that's my take.

I would actually like

Dupuis-Crosby-Iginla
Kunitz-Malkin-Jokinen

until Neal gets back. Think those lines could work...

how about throwing a curveball and running this:

Kunitz - Malkin - Neal
BB - Sid - Iggy
Morrow - Sutter - Dupes
Cooke - Vitale - JJ :sarcasm:

tbh though I think it'd be great if this team could have an equivilent of the CPR line from St. Louis and I think Cookie and Vitale could potentially provide 2/3 of something like that

You can't ask Sid to deal with 2 new line mates.

we have a potential checking l.ine with Morrow/Sutter/Cooke... we need an energy line and Adams and Glass are second tier hitters, not cyclers per se

here is what drives me NUTS about glass playing...

A.) He is in no way, shape, or form an asset to the offense. He cant pass, shoot, or grind... he is 100% a liability in their end. Lets just put that up front. Sure, 4th line... dont need that there... but still its nice to have and if someone in a higher line goes down its really nice if you can plug players in somewhere else without them being utterly useless.

B.) He is supposedly a PK Specialist, yet our PK has stunk all year. Can anyone remember a single PP where you thought... "Oh My Gosh... look at Glass out there.. he is a beast on the PK"... or heck even "That was a nice play by Glass"... I cant.... That isnt to say he is bad at it... he really isnt, but still if you are going to make the roster as a PK specialist you need to be better than just a guy who doesnt make plays and just plays a conservative role. guys like staal or talbot put the other teams PP on their heels at times... we dont really see that kind of play from Glass.

C.) If you are going to play him as a defensive forward... note this... he had the worst +/- on the team. He also had a whopping 1 takeaway all season long... In 169 more minutes than Vitale he managed a whopping 2 more blocked shots. (Vitale blocked shots at the same pace as Adams did, and had 8 takeaways compared to 1 giveaway... and wasnt on the ice for a single PPgoal scored against us.) Its really hard to watch Glass lead a line that is pinned in its own end for a solid minute while the other team cycles... He just is better suited for a support role like Adams plays. they dont have enough speed on that line for him to not be a solid defensive contributer there...

D. They vastly overrate his hits... Officially in a ten minute period of play this season, he averaged .5 more hits than adams, 1 more than Vitale, and 1.5 more than Bennet...

so you are telling me that we are going to sit several more offensively gifted players, who are better defensive players, with better speed and better passing ability, for what amounts to a hit a game? That is what jacks me off. yes bennet will make a silly rookie mistake at times, but they are few and far between. And Vitale obviously pissed in Bylsma's cheerios once... Still its hard to see why anyone really gets benched over Glass right now...

Logic, reason, and data have no place in our decision making....off with you peon. Malkin is in line to get scratched before Glass

I know we all hate Glass, but if you think a simple swap of two players will solve our even strength woes, you guys are really out of touch.

The roster doesn't matter-it's the execution.

Tossing the 4th line over the boards is a guaranteed lost shift in their defensive zone every time. Pure momentum killer.

I guess some fan is handing these out tomorrow at the game, they should ask Flyer fans how this turned out .

Watching Crosby burn them tomorrow will be that much sweeter, can't wait.

Man do I love when other fanbases give Crosby even more motivation. Pro tip: don't give a self-motivated person outside motivation. They'll reach another level entirely.

Jackets are already there. I get a lot of **** for wearing Pens gear around Columbus. "Dude, you don't like Crosby do you? Just admit it. You can't stand him. He's a big baby."

Me: "We have more Stanley Cups since you've existed than you have playoff wins."

I actually really like the Jackets and hate saying that, but if someone is being a dick..

I want two things. Orpik in. And Iginla off of Malkin's line. If there is a way to have less than zero chemistry, Geno and Iggy have it.

Ha. Same **** everywhere I guess. Typical " he's a whiner and baby". I wanna slap everyone that says it. Not because I'm a pens fan . I'm a steelers fan and you can call Ben a rapist all you want. But because it is more proof how closer we are getting to the movie "idiocracy". That's what it reminds me of every time....especially the way they say it.

Everyone is giving him **** and rightfully so but back in 07-08 and 08-09 TK was one of our best playoff performers. Cooke-Staal-TK was a force on the forecheck and at controlling the puck.

I feel like TK still has the skills to play that type of game so hopefully he can do it if he gets in there. I still believe in manbearpig.
