Confirmed with Link: Penguins acquire Marcel Goc for 2014 5th rounder, 2015 3rd rounder

Goc is our FOURTH line center, apparently. More stellar lineup management by our awesome head coach.

In a game where Goc hadn't gotten to practice with any of his new teammates, Goc was put in as the fourth line center to start the game, and was shuffled around with various linemates throughout the game (he even got two shifts with Malkin and Neal).

I wouldn't read too much into how Goc and Stempniak are used in the first couple of games. Let them get a practice or two under their belts, and then we should start to get a more realistic idea of where they'll get used.

For that matter, having someone who can get the puck out of the zone and even provide a little more scoring on the fourth line isn't exactly a bad thing for this team, right now.

Incidentally, Goc had more ice time than Adams, Glass and Gibbons (by about a minute), and only 5 seconds less than Pyatt (which is basically the time taken to get back to the bench on a couple of line changes).
