Which is why he shouldn't be on the second line to start off. He's not even really a top 6 guy anymore when he's fully healthy, it's a bit much to ask him to step in the way they did. He should be on the 4th line with McCann and Dorsett or Cracknell.

Higgins never was a suitable top 6 singer, and he certainly isn't now. He's been deployed so wrong all these years - not his fault he can't produce, he's just not a guy to rely on offensively.

What an ugly game in all facets. Hansen our best forward. His PK shift in the 1st was probably the highlight of the game for me. Was hoping for Virtanen to take out Malkin but he only got 7 mins.

Hope Dank is OK. Was bloody after that collision with Letang.

Classy move by Letang to ask if Daniel was ok. Was happy to see that.

He's much like Hansen. He's a solid 3rd liner who can easily move up in case of injuries. A team can be okay with Higgins on the 2nd line, but a cup team has him on the 3rd or even 4th line. Same with Hansen, although Hansen has looked really good this year. Hopefully we get another career year out of him, hes one of my favourite Canucks for sure.

Agreed. We don't even have to play Higgins in our top 6 yet we do. In his first game back nonetheless too. Pretty ridiculous.

Why exactly are people complaining about Higgins being in the "top 6" when he got less than 10 minutes of ice time? This team doesn't have true top 6 outside of the Sedin line.

Fehr just came off injury and looked fine. Higgins has had weeks to get ready and should have had at least had some fire in his belly. Instead he didn't give it a second effort all game. Often it isn't the first game back players look bad. Usually they come back hard but then fade. Certainly was't the case here. He floated thru the game. Nothing can legitimize that and he needs to be called out for it. If he can't go he should go to the coach and tell him

Funny about how some ridicule the hell out of Sbisa but give favorites like Higgins an almost blanket pass. Like don't give Higgins a hard time but feel free to pour it on Sbisa as much as you wantl

Sbisa will get more latitude his first couple games back too. Just like ppl wondering if it's injury making hamhuis look rather poor.

I'd ridicule Higgins a whole lot more if he was dishing Spizzas.

Higgins was not the worst out there. Everyone looked bad with transitional play. Choppy and scrabbled.

In my opinion, the team looked this way against Philly as well. The only difference is Phillys not a good team and the Canucks finished.

Best part of the game was the dish McCann made to Hansen for the second goal of the game for the nucks.

Much rather have Baertschi playing and sitting one of Cracknell or Dorsett out while Higgins goes in the fourth line and easing him self safely with game-speed.

Not sure what you are talking about but Higgins is a great singer.

Baertschi has been good the last 3 games, coincidentally when Horvat also started playing better. Baertschi was finally calming down and playing his game and they clicked a little bit as a line.
